Celebrating Debutantes 2013: Cheyanne Young (Interview + Giveaway)

What's up, wonderful readers?
Today I have a lovely indie YA debut author to answer some interview questions. Also, she's offering a SIGNED paperback of her book, Motocross Me (which I heard--from Dianne--is really cute!), to an international winner! Let's welcome Cheyanne Young!

Cheyanne Young

1. What do you feel about the number '13'?

My best friend's birthday is on the 13th so I'm down with that number.

2. What's the best thing that happened after your book was published?

I felt a freedom of being able to do what I want, when I want, as far as writing is concerned. After that first book is over, everything else feels easier.

3. How did you celebrate the publishing of your book?

I didn't celebrate personally, but I did give a copy to pretty much everyone I know.

4. Do you read reviews of your book?

Nope. Never have, never will! The only "reviews" I read are comments from my beta readers while I'm still able to edit and change a book.

5. What is your best or most unforgettable moment with a fan?

I got an email from a girl who chose to write a report on my book for high school project. That was a super cool feeling that out of thousands of books, she chose mine. Here's hoping that her project wasn't called "The book I hate the most"

6. Was there any book/s from other debut author of 2013 that you loved?

ALL OF YOU by Christina Lee was amazing and I couldn't read that book fast enough.

7. Are you interested in writing in a different genre or for a different audience?

I currently write both... YA contemporary was my first passion, but I'm starting to love writing chick lit as well, so we'll see if I can manage both genres.

8. Share us one embarrassing moment you've had.

So yeah, I was copy/pasting a thank you message to every blogger/facebooker/etc that had shared my cover reveal. It was TONS of blogs and websites and a lot of work. At one point, I forgot that I had copied something else, and I pasted it into the comments of a blog and hit 'enter' before I realized the mistake. It was embarrassing.

9. Favorite color? Pink
Favorite movie? We Bought a Zoo
Favorite ice cream flavor? Mint Chocolate chip
Favorite song? At the moment it's Let Her Go by Passenger, but this changes all the time
Ultimate celebrity crush (dead or alive)? Norman Reedus

10. What's next for you?

I have no idea. Which is what makes being an indie author so awesome. I'll just take it one day at a time and see what happens.

More about Cheyanne!

Cheyanne is a native Texan with a fear of cold weather and a coffee addiction that probably needs an intervention. She loves books, sarcasm, nail polish and paid holidays. Motocross Me
by Cheyanne Young

Published June 26th 2013 by 336Love

Blurb (Goodreads):
When Hana Fisher moves to the small town of Mixon, Texas to live with her dad, she dreads having to work at the boring pile of dirt he fondly calls a motocross track. But when she gets there, she finds the rinky-dink dirt bike track from her childhood has grown into the most respected racing track in the state.

Now popular by association, Hana endures the pain and sweat of working in the summer heat in order to fit in with a sport she’s growing to love. She gets a real family, a best friend and not just one, but two of the fastest racers trying to win her heart.

When Hana abuses her status as the track owner’s daughter to help the gorgeous Ryan Russo cheat in the biggest race of the year, she risks more than just losing her job. Every good thing in her life is at stake now- her friends, her dad’s trust, and Ash Carter- the kind-hearted racer who may not be as alluring as Ryan, but is proof that nice guys don’t always finish last.
