Celebrating Debutantes 2013: Cheree Smith (13 Random Facts + Giveaway)

She loves cherry, and she was pointed out in all of her stories that she have a main character eating an apple. Guess there's thing about red-heads and red foods! :D

Cheree Smith

13 Random Facts

1. The first story I wrote was for my younger sister (to date she is my biggest fan).

(Sidenote: Aww, that's so sweet. :)

2. It was pointed out in all of my stories I have a main character eating an apple.

3. I can play guitar, keyboard and flute.

(Sidenote: Really? That's cool! :D)

4. I am secretly addicted to reality tv shows (I use the excuse they help with my writing).
5. My favourite food are cherries.

(Sidenote: And here your name's Cheree! Bet your mom already knows what you want to be called back when she's pregnant.)

6. I am not scared of anything (it probably has something to do with my cousins abandoning me in a haunted house amusement ride when I was 5 and I had to find my own way out... One of the many things they did)

7. I have at least 3 novels in progress with lots more I want to write.

8. I never listen to the "never let family critique your writing". My two best (and harshest) critiques are my brother and sister.

(Sidenote: They can be either really hard or cheerful. I get you. ;)

9. I love everything Japanese: food, movies, anime, and travelling the country. I'm even planning on a YA novel using Japanese mythology and ghosts.

10. I once auditioned for Australian Idol (the judges are definitely not nice in person).

11. I have 3 university degrees, going for my 4th next year. Some might say I love studying, I just say I haven't found the right career yet.

12. I have found the thrill of photography, so now you'll never find me without a camera nearby.

13. The only person who can stand watching movies with me is my brother. I have a habit of always knowing what is going to happen (I love movies where there are twists that surprise me).

(Sidenote: Me too! That's why I'm hard to impress (even with books!). If I wasn't able to tell what will happen, then that movie/book will be on my Favorites label.)

Here's Cheree's debut novel!

Shadow Embrace
(Haven #1)
by Cheree Smith

Published April 29th 2013 by Dark Cherry Press

Blurb (Goodreads):
No escape.

Those words haunt Scar's dreams. She thinks the creature that terrorises her while asleep isn't real, but when she's abducted and taken to a reform school meant to contain creatures too dangerous to function in society, she starts to wonder whether she isn't some monster.

She turns to an underground fight club full of vampires, werewolves and witches established by the students to control her urges, and who is she kidding, she loves to fight.

When fighters begin to disappear, turning Scar into the prime suspect, she must race to prove her innocence before her true nature is exposed.

The only problem is that she's not entirely sure she's innocent.
