Currently Reading:
I'm currently reading the second book from Splintered trilogy, Unhinged by A.G Howard for Splintered and Unhinged Read-A-Long I'm hosting (@AGHowardPH). I've waited sooo long to finally read this!
I didn't realized I've finished FOUR books since my last Wednesday post!
I've finished two middle grade titles--both contemporaries but opposite mood/tone. At Your Service by Jen Malone is a light and funny novel, while Cartwheeling in Thunderstorms by Katherine Bundell is touching.
I've read and reviewed Summer in New York collection--an anthology by six award-winning authors for a blog tour. I also finished re-reading Splintered by A.G Howard for the read-a-long mentioned above. I'm still thinking whether I'd write a re-review or not.

Read Next:
I'm reading Words and their Meanings by Kate Bassett next. I got this from Netgalley and been looking forward to read it. The main character's a writer!
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, originally started by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that highlights upcoming book releases everyone is waiting on.
by Stacey Jay
Expected publication: December 9th 2014 by Delacorte Press
Blurb (Goodreads):
Game of Thrones meets the Grimm's fairy tales in this twisted, fast-paced romantic fantasy-adventure about Sleeping Beauty's daughter, a warrior princess who must fight to reclaim her throne.
Though she looks like a mere mortal, Princess Aurora is a fairy blessed with enhanced strength, bravery, and mercy yet cursed to destroy the free will of any male who kisses her. Disguised as a boy, she enlists the help of the handsome but also cursed Prince Niklaas to fight legions of evil and free her brother from the ogre queen who stole Aurora's throne ten years ago.
Will Aurora triumph over evil and reach her brother before it's too late? Can Aurora and Niklaas break the curses that will otherwise forever keep them from finding their one true love?
"Game of Thrones meets the Grimm's fairy tales in this twisted, fast-paced romantic fantasy-adventure about Sleeping Beauty's daughter, a warrior princess who must fight to reclaim her throne." -- THIS sentence is too much. I want this book NOW.

So am I!
DeleteI really enjoyed Splintered when I listened to the audiobook. I hadn't heard anything about it before I picked it up at the library and I was pleasantly surprised with it. I really want to read the sequel. Here's my WWW. I think I have a review on there somewhere for Splintered too if you want to check it out.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Sarah! I hope you could read the sequel too. :)

ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic day :)
Check out my WoW post!
That's great, Alyssa! *fist bump* Good to hear that it's also on NG, but I'd rather have a paper copy. :) Have a fantastic day too!
DeleteWords and Their Meanings is on my Goodreads list. :) I love books that involve writers.
ReplyDeleteI love those words "Game of Thrones meets the Grimm's Fairytales". That's a big comparison though. :) As a lover of GoT and fairytales. Oh gosh, this sounds fantastic. I love Sleeping Beauty's Aurora, the idea of the curse to destroy any man who kisses her sounds interesting.
This is definitely going on my Goodreads To Read list NOW. That's like my millionth fantasy add this year and I don't even read fantasy....
This is a great pick.
I KNOWWWW!!! I just love it! I love fantasy and I'm sure you'll love it too once you read it. ;)
DeleteSplintered has been recommended to me, quite a few times. I guess I will have to pick it up soon.
ReplyDeleteI am not familiar with Stacy Jay's work, but the book sounds promising. Happy reading!
