Pivot Point (book one) was one of my favorite reads in 2013. I loved the idea of having two fates, and choosing which one is the best to take. Apart from the fresh concept, I also liked how Kasie West write the sequence of events cleverly. As I was reading Pivot Point last year, I knew then that I would love it and I started waiting for the sequel even though I'm still in the middle of the book. That's how I'm excited and so over-the-top upon receiving Split Second on my doorstep (along with other gorgeous books).
The very first twist in Split Second was the fact that it was now told in two perspectives: Addie and Laila's (Addie's best friend). I may have missed it on the book's blurb that's why I'm a little surprised to find Laila's perspective. Reading her thoughts were awkward (you'd think I was the one who got betrayed) and I hated her when she didn't gave Addie the letter she wrote to herself before Laila Erased her memory. I got annoyed at her and wasn't keen on looking forward to read more from her. However, when she told Addie about it anyway, my nerves around her eased. I found myself liking her side as well. Especially how she loves her brothers and when that Connor guy arrived. *wink, wink* I swear, the butterflies starts to flutter and the sparks fly and I'm swooning over these two. *sigh*
Meanwhile, on Addie's perspective, she went to her dad's (Norm world) for the winter break. She met Trevor..as a stranger. Not a total stranger, since they met once at the game (happened on her chosen path). She don't remember anything about Trevor and their past (or, never-literally-existed past), and neither does Trevor. Despite this, there's an undeniably spark between them. Because you know, as other people said: the mind can forget but the the heart will never. So yeah, swoon.
Since the sequel was told in two perspectives and Addie and Trevor didn't knew each other while on Addie's perspective, I feel like didn't get much a glimpse of Trevor. I really missed him and Addie, too. I was happy though on what happened in the end. I'm also happy with something new to swoon on Laila's.
Kasie West never failed to bring more twists and surprises in this book. I just loved her and her writing even more. I thought she couldn't write a sequel, afraid that she gave all her magic on the first book. I was wrong. How could be this author so clever?
I'm buzzing from my fingertips to my insides when I read this book. From the two love stories, to the excitement, surprises, cleverness, and amazing-ness of this book. Split Second was fresh and lovely as Pivot Point. I couldn't wait to feel more on the third book! I highly recommend all of you to read this series. After reading Pivot Point, stay buzzed with Split Second!

I HAVE to read this series ASAP. The covers are so rad and everyone keeps raving about it and ughhh I need cha-ching right now because Pivot Point and Split Second are both on the tippity-top of my TBR list.
