Celebrating Debutantes 2013: Venise Webb (13 Random Facts + Giveaway)

Venise Webb

13 Random Facts

1) I am completely addicted to Korean Dramas. They have fascinating love stories. The dramas get kind of nerve wrecking with the families, parents, and everybody against the main couple and does everything short of murder to keep them apart. Still, I get caught up in the romance.

2) keeping in tune with the Korean dramas, I am a big fan of Lee Min Ho And Hyun Bin. I watch everything that they are in.

3) I think Sheldon Cooper is the funniest character on television.

4) I'm totally in love with Duck Dynasty.

5) I was born in Alabama but grew up in Chicago. Although I have since moved back to Alabama, I have a special place in my heart for the Windy City. That is why I decided to use it as the setting for one of my series.

6) I want to one day move to a small seaside town Like the ones you see in a Nicholas Sparks movie. My fantasy is to move to a place like the one in Safe Haven and meet my own Josh Dummel.

7) I am learning to speak Korean. With the large amount of K-Dramas that I watch, I found it necessary to learn. Being too busy reading subtitles, I miss out on the important stuff, like subtext , the expressions on the actor's face, the look In his eye's, all the things that make the dialog means something.

8) My hobbies include sewing and baking. I like the creativity of it all. Nothing soothes or inspires me more than making a really cute skirt or decorating a cake with colorful fondant.

9) Fallyn, the main character from my first book, visited me in my sleep for a whole year before I wrote The first book of her series.

10) I was working as a data analyst before I was bullied into becoming a writer by one of my characters.

11) The first thing I do when I start a new story is to create a new playlist. It helps motivate me.

12) I'm addicted to ice cream. That is all.

13)My first job was at a summer camp the summer before I started high school. I had the best time. A little girl taught me to tap dance.

More about Venise!

Venise Webb grew up in Chicago, Illinois, where she first discovered her passion for books. She wrote her first story in the third grade about the misadventures of a young girl in an inner city school. That passion grew into an obsession for books of all genres and sizes. She now lives in Birmingham, Alabama with her three sons and a big colorful, southern family. When she is not reading, she is making up stories of her own.

Here's Venise's debut novel!

Redemption
by Venise Webb

Published February 3rd 2013

Blurb (Goodreads):
Shayne

“I was just a normal guy from a normal family planted right dead smack in the middle of Normal Town, U.S.A.”

Shayne Naughton’s world has been turned upside down. His family and friends are acting weird. Strange men are following him or calling his cellphone in the middle of class. A magical purple-haired new kid is doing strange things to his classmates. And a gorgeous, redhead demon is out for his blood, thinking it is the key to unleashing her demon husband from Hell. He used to be just a normal guy until she showed up at his school and changed his world.

Fallyn

“As I fade away, in my last moments I have the tiniest bit of hope that I shall see my father's home once more. In that moment, I will know that I've been redeemed.”

Fallyn Galen has made many, grave, mistakes over her lifetime. She’s accepted her fate. All she wants to do is to make amends before her final punishment. But, then she’s sent to Redemption, Massachusetts and the soul she didn’t know she had connects with him. Now she is alive again and feeling things she’s never felt. Shayne Naughton may just be the redemption she was looking for, if only she can keep him alive for him to learn to love her for exactly who, and what, she is.

Redemption is Venise Webb’s debut novel for the new Fallyn series. An epic battle is brewing between Heaven, Hell and Earth. Right there in the middle of it all is Fallyn and Shayne. Is their soul connection the key to protecting the world or the weapon to destroy it?
