This would be my last Wednesday [meme] post for now. I will be on a one month blogging hiatus starting next week because I'll be preparing for board exams. Wish me luck!
Currently Reading:
Plus One by Elizabeth Fama for a blog tour. I wouldn't read a book as well for one month except the blog tours I previously signed up on.
Finished Reading:
Been a wonderful week with these lovelies! Boys Don't Knit by T.S Easton (review here), This Girl by Colleen Hoover (review on May 20th), and Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi (review on April 26th).
Read Next:
The Falconer by Elizabeth May
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, originally started by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that highlights upcoming book releases everyone is waiting on.
Snow Likes Ashes
(Snow Life Ashes #1)
Expected publication: October 14th 2014 by Balzer + Bray
Blurb (Goodreads):
A heartbroken girl. A fierce warrior. A hero in the making.
Sixteen years ago the Kingdom of Winter was conquered and its citizens enslaved, leaving them without magic or a monarch. Now, the Winterians’ only hope for freedom is the eight survivors who managed to escape, and who have been waiting for the opportunity to steal back Winter’s magic and rebuild the kingdom ever since.
Orphaned as an infant during Winter’s defeat, Meira has lived her whole life as a refugee, raised by the Winterians’ general, Sir. Training to be a warrior—and desperately in love with her best friend, and future king, Mather — she would do anything to help her kingdom rise to power again.
So when scouts discover the location of the ancient locket that can restore Winter’s magic, Meira decides to go after it herself. Finally, she’s scaling towers, fighting enemy soldiers, and serving her kingdom just as she’s always dreamed she would. But the mission doesn’t go as planned, and Meira soon finds herself thrust into a world of evil magic and dangerous politics – and ultimately comes to realize that her destiny is not, never has been, her own.
I'm into this book the first time I saw it. I'm so excited to read this!

Oh because it sounds promising! I hope we won't get disappointed. :)
DeleteOohhhhh... Neither the Falconer nor Plus One was for me, but hope it works our better for you, and maybe it will, considering mostly everyone I know loved those two. AND me too!!!! Snow Like Ashes- this has been such a good year for retellings and I hope it holds same for this book.
ReplyDeleteI hope too! It would be shame if it won't turn out the way we dream of it.
DeleteOoh looks like you've had a lovely week of reading. The books you finished I have previously read.
ReplyDeleteI did! I've been reading a bunch of lovely books consecutively. Hope it won't last soon. :)
DeleteThat looks like a great selection of books. Thank you for sharing your link with me :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for droppin by!
DeleteSnow Like Ashes sounds interesting but for some reason the generic "Kingdom of Winter" name bothers me. It feels like it was supposed to be a placeholder name and then they just couldn't be bothered to actually come up with something.
ReplyDeleteI finished "Plus One" the other day and enjoyed it. I prefered Fama's other novel "Monstrous Beauty" more, but it was still pretty good.
Alas, I haven't read Monstrous Beauty. Hope to read it, though.
DeleteSounds intriguing! Great pick! My WOW
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read what you think about Ignite Me! :)
