Knowing the outcome doesn’t always make a choice easier . . .

Addison Coleman’s life is one big “What if?” As a Searcher, whenever Addie is faced with a choice, she can look into the future and see both outcomes. It’s the ultimate insurance plan against disaster. Or so she thought. When Addie’s parents ambush her with the news of their divorce, she has to pick who she wants to live with—her father, who is leaving the paranormal compound to live among the “Norms,” or her mother, who is staying in the life Addie has always known. Addie loves her life just as it is, so her answer should be easy. One Search six weeks into the future proves it’s not.

In one potential future, Addie is adjusting to life outside the Compound as the new girl in a Norm high school where she meets Trevor, a cute, sensitive artist who understands her. In the other path, Addie is being pursued by the hottest guy in school—but she never wanted to be a quarterback’s girlfriend. When Addie’s father is asked to consult on a murder in the Compound, she’s unwittingly drawn into a dangerous game that threatens everything she holds dear. With love and loss in both lives, it all comes down to which reality she’s willing to live through . . . and who she can’t live without.

My Thoughts:

What if in your one life, you can see your two different paths? That's what I've been thinking before, during and after reading this book. The thought never failed to amaze and awe me. The author introduced me to Addison and her world--a world where people had unique talents. From the first few chapters, I was instantly hooked. The fact that it gave me a lot of information about their world and their talents (especially Addie's) was a double thumbs-up. I also liked that in the very first chapter, I already felt the butterflies. ;)

When I come to think of it, this is only an average contemporary young adult novel. But with the added paranormal touch and unexpected twists and turns, it turned out as not-your-average YA novel. It is something more. The concept was fresh and original. I really liked how the author did with everything in this book. The romance, mystery, how it kept me guessing and everything I felt about it: rush, adore, shock and love. I loved this book so much. I'd say that it's one of my best reads this 2013. I really liked the idea of being able to get a glimpse on your two different future. I knew I'd be looking forward to the next book even while I was reading it. I adore this book so much.

Reading Pivot Point was like trying to eat a strange food. You didn't know what you will get by looking at it. You take a bite and you liked it and then you continue to eat it on a good pace. Not too fast, not too slow. Because you're enjoying every bite word of it. Next thing you know, it's your newest favorite thing. Pivot Point is a very nicely written, well-thought and amazing novel. It is everything what I'm looking for in a book. The ending made me feel like crying to get the next book already. I'd highly recommend Pivot Point!

Thank you so much to Christine and HarperCollins for providing me a hardback copy in exchange for an honest review!
