What's Cool? September!

What's Cool? is an anytime meme where I talk about ANY Cool thing happened, happening, and going to happen made by me!

What's Cool?

September!

(Events, announcements, MV of the Month, Movie Treat #2)

Because..it's my BIRTHDAY month!!!! Yay! My fave month apart from December, January and February.

I don't really have special thing to do (for my blog, at least) on my birthday. Busy and busy. *sigh* But the exact day of my birthday (28th -- Note: emphasis ;) will be my second day of duty in OR--on a graveyard shift: 10 pm-6 am. How Cool and amazing is that? Not. Creepy. (Hey, it's my birthday!)

Announcement: I'm not doing Teaser Tuesdays now. :( But a good thing comes because that means there's one new day slot open for any post. I'm still doing other weekly memes like WWW Wednesdays, WoW and Feature and Follow. :)

ANYWAY, the only 'big' that's happening will be the brainstorming of my first 'big' even on my blog that will take part in December. Hopefully, I--we--can make that happen because really, it will be fun. Just thinking of it makes me squirm with excitement! But I'm for no telling for now. ;)

There will be also blog tours and a lot of cover reveals happening for this month (and on) and giveaways! See below for a sneak peek in my sched..

* These are sure dates for the said events. There will be more to come.

And of course, what's the use of my blog if I'm not gonna post a review of my fave books? Another thing to check out this month: my review of The Hunger Games! I will also be featuring and reviewing albums, that you should find out from whom. Band feature and a lot more! (Please go to my Calendar page for more.)

Another Cool thing..

Remember my last What's Cool? I promised you to show the first SIGNED book that I won.

  • Movie Treat! #2

Toy Story (1995)

A cowboy doll is profoundly threatened and jealous when a new spaceman figure supplants him as top toy in a boy's room.

When Woody is stolen by a toy collector, Buzz and his friends vow to rescue him, but Woody finds the idea of immortality in a museum tempting.

The toys are mistakenly delivered to a day-care center instead of the attic right before Andy leaves for college, and it's up to Woody to convince the other toys that they weren't abandoned and to return home.

If I'm going back to school (which I'm not really coz I started school three months ago and getting ready now for midterms examination), I'd definitely pick this series. These animated story of toys are fun, fresh and makes me feel like I'm young again (not that I'm old. But like, kid young). I personally loved the third one. Not just because I forgot the first two movies, but also because it made me cry. It was heartbreaking and touching. You'd never expect animated toys would make you cry.

What movie/s would you watch before school starts?

  • Music Video of the Month...
We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together by Taylor Swift!

This song has welcomed you every time you open my blog for the past month. And now that the video was done and released, I'm going to feature it as the Music Video of the Month (it's already on the right hand sidebar)!

What Cool thing happened to you? Enjoy the rest of September! :) XXX

Movie Treat! #1

Hello, Summer!
Soon enough summer will end and school starts again. Well, at least for you. Summer ended and school started for me two months ago. But it won't stop me from giving you a summer movie treat!

I may not know ALL the movies then and now but I hope you'll enjoy what I have for you.

Rummage your DVD piles and play these..

Mr. Bean's Holiday
(2007)
Mr. Bean wins a trip to Cannes where he unwittingly separates a young boy from his father and must help the two come back together. On the way he discovers France, bicycling, and true love, among other things.

Feel the summer all along and relax with this hilarious movie. Let Mr. Bean take you on his disaster holiday. With the fresh mood and comedy theme of this movie, sure you'll enjoy your remaining few weeks of summer.

Happy Feet
(2006)
Into the world of the Emperor Penguins, who find their soul mates through song, a penguin is born who cannot sing. But he can tap dance something fierce!

I loved this movie.
It's about being different and finding your place, and acceptance. It's a fun movie with a lot of music and dancing penguins that I'm sure you'll enjoy. Summer is still here and just about to end but let's dive in an iceland!

When In Rome
(2010)

Beth is a young, ambitious New Yorker who is completely unlucky in love. However, on a whirlwind trip to Rome, she impulsively steals some coins from a reputed fountain of love, and is then aggressively pursued by a band of suitors.

Let's go to on a trip in Rome and find our true love, as well! Make sure to NOT throw a coin on a wishing fountain--it might end up on a disaster. Or a crazy stalking adventure.

A light rom-com for your summer, friends!

Alice In Wonderland
(2010)

19-year-old Alice returns to the magical world from her childhood adventure, where she reunites with her old friends and learns of her true destiny: to end the Red Queen's reign of terror.

We all met Alice and joined her in a wonderland during her--our-- childhood. Now, let's join her again in the wonderland and find out if it's just a dream, or a real adventure.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
(2011)
Journalist Mikael Blomkvist is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing for forty years by Lisbeth Salander, a young computer hacker.

I honestly haven't seen this movie or read the book. But they say the book was great, haven't heard 'bout the movie, though. Up to now, I'm still deciding whether I could give the book a try. Or.. what should I do first? Watch the movie or read the book? Because the problem is..the book's genre wasn't what I read. So, the movie has an additional point here. What do you think?

***

DVDs done. now I'm going to recommend a movie to watch in theaters. Since it's now showing, why don't we watch The Dark Night Rises?

Eight years on, a new terrorist leader, Bane, overwhelms Gotham's finest, and the Dark Knight resurfaces to protect a city that has branded him an enemy.

(Short movie description I got from Imbd.com)

Do you have any movies in mind? Hope you enjoy the summer and the movies! :)
